Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cover baking sheet with aluminum foil and add bacon. Place bacon in preheated oven and bake for 20-30 minutes, depending on how crunchy you like your bacon.
While bacon cooks, divide the ground beef into four equal portions and form a burger patty with each portion. Season both sides of burger with salt and pepper.
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat (cast iron is not necessary but does deliver best results) and add olive oil to the pan. The olive oil will help the burger to get a nice crust. Add burgers to pan and do not touch again until they are ready to flip, about 4 to 5 minutes. Flip burgers and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes or until they've reached desired temperature.
Cover each burger with cheese during the last minute of cooking.
Sandwich the burgers between sesame seed buns. Top burger with bacon. Next, add 5 lays potato chips.
Serve immediately.
