Cranberry Sauce

Can I be honest?

Growing up, Thanksgiving was probably my least favorite holiday. I know, I know! Crazy right?!

The biggest reason why it wasn’t my favorite was because of the food. I grew up being with my family ALL of time and at every family function we would have homemade Mexican food like tamales, enchiladas, and fish tacos \made with fish that my Uncle Carl just caught that morning. I did not want to eat turkey, dressing, and all the other foods that came along with Thanksgiving. I even hated mac and cheese!!

I don’t know what was wrong with that crazy little girl but I am an adult now and I have changed. I LOVE Thanksgiving!!

If I had to choose my favorite Thanksgiving sides, it would have to be cranberry sauce and dressing! Now don’t get me wrong, I love me some mac and cheese now, but mac and cheese is something that you can eat year around. Nobody makes cranberry sauce unless it’s Thanksgiving, well at least I don’t, but this recipe might make you want to!

I made it with fresh cranberries, fresh squeezed orange juice, and pure maple syrup. It happens to be paleo and it taste just as good (if not better) than any other traditional homemade cranberry sauce! It’s also super easy to make and something you can make a few days before Thanksgiving dinner.
