One-Pot Pizza Mac

This One-Pot Pizza Mac perfectly combines the flavor elements of pizza and macaroni and cheese. Does it get any better than that? No, I don’t think so! Well, actually, you can make this in about 30 minutes, so I guess it does keep getting better and better.

This is the perfect meal to make on a Friday night after a long week, and if you have a picky eater like me, you are almost guaranteed a slam dunk with this meal (I say almost because toddlers are no joke and sometimes my oldest will even refuse cake).

The Italian seasoning and the pizza toppings are what really what make this dish resemble the flavors of pizza. You could even make this with Italian sausage to kick up the flavor a notch.

Toppings

Add your favorite pizza toppings to this mac and cheese so it has everything you like on your pizza.

Some topping ideas include:

  • Pepperoni
  • Black Olives
  • Bell Peppers
  • Onions
  • Jalapenos

To Make Gluten-Free

For this recipe I used elbow noodles that contain wheat, but you can easily make this gluten-free by using gluten free noodles.

To Make Dairy-Free

To finish off this pizza mac, I add 2 cups of cheese to the pasta. This step is optional. You can easily omit this step and just add your favorite pizza toppings once your pasta is finished cooking.

One-Pot Pizza Mac

Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 2 tsp of Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp of granulated garlic
  • 2 tsp of granulated onion
  • 1 15 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 8 oz of elbow macaroni noodles (half a 16 oz box)
  • 2 cups of chicken stock
  • 2 cups mozzarella or sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup of mini pepperoni

Instructions

  • Add ground pork to a large saute pan over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper to taste, 1 tsp of Italian seasoning, 1 tsp of granulated garlic, and 1 tsp of granulated onion. Use a wooden spoon to break up the pork and cook until done. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add can of tomato sauce to pan and stir to combine with pork. Add remaining 1 tsp of Italian seasoning, 1 tsp of granulated garlic, and 1 tsp of granulated onion to sauce. Next, add macaroni noodles and stir to combine. Add chicken stock, and stir to combine. Turn heat up to medium-high and bring sauce to a boil.
  • Once sauce starts to boil, cover and turn heat down to low. Cook until pasta is al dente, about 10 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  • Once pasta is ready, turn off heat and stir in cheese. Add pepperoni and serve.
